75th Partition horror Remembrance Day at India Gate, New Delhi

World Punjabi Organisation headed by Shri Vikramjit Singh Sahney, Member of Parliament, Rajya Sabha from Punjab commemorated the 75th Partition horror Remembrance Day at India Gate, New Delhi. A candlelight march was taken out by prominent Punjabis consisting of MP Hansraj Hans, Divya Dutta, Ex MP Tarlochan Singh, KL Ganju, Justice Kuldeep Singh, HS Kohli
“Its really tragic to remember that over 15 million Hindu, Sikhs and Muslims were displaced during the deadly partition in 1947 said Shri Sahney. He added that Radcliffe, who was given the responsibility of drawing the line had never visited India before and had no Idea on I dian sensitivities and just finished his job in three months.
Shri Sahney also said that two million people were killed in most brutal ways and one lakh women were kidnapped and raped.
Shri Sahney said that the partition horrors Remembrance Day is to acknowledge the pain undergone by Indians specially Punjabis due to partition and it is a lesson for maintaining social harmony and sense of oneness which has to be practiced and nurtured every day, said Mr. Sahney
He also added that it is important to educate successive generations about the fact that sowing religious divides are the real root cause of any violence.
