1922 – 2002

Raunaq Singh was the Founder Chairman of RAUNAQ group of Industries which is engaged in a diverse range of activities covering manufacturing operations in automotive tyres, automobiles components, steel pipes & tubes, electronics laminates, Construction & Engineering services, International Trading and Financial Services. The group’s business activity spans accross the country with factories and offices in over 100 locations.

Raunaq Singh was a first generation industrialist, known all over the country for his entrepreneurial abilities and Management skills.

Success in his Venture encouraged him to diversify into other products. As a result, he set up APOLLO TYRES LIMITED, BHARAT GEARS LIMITED, RAUNAQ FINANCE LIMITED, RAUNAQ INTERNATIONAL LIMITED, RAUNAQ AUTOMOTIVE COMPONENTS LIMITED and GUJARAT PERSTORP ELECTRONICS LIMITED. In a span of 35 years, the group grown to become a force to reckon with in the Indian Industry.

A widely traveled person, Raunaq singh had led Business delegations to well over 25 countries during last several years.

He had been a great advocate of economic liberalisation and globalisation of the Indian business.

Keen to utilise his business perception and inject a dynamic Management style the Indian Government had nominated Raunaq Singh in several important organisation namely:

Raunaq Singh was recepient of several awards for entrepreneurship business growth instituted by the Government and Quasi-Government bodies. With his penchant for exports and export promotion for Indian Industry he was often referred to as “Mr. Exporter”.

In December 1998, Delhi University had confered a Doctoral Degree “D.Litt (Honoris Causa)” on Raunaq Singh.

In April 1999, Raunaq Singh was honoured with the “Order of the Khalsa” at Anandpu Sahib on the occasion of Tercentenary Birth of Khalsa Panth.

Raunaq Singh was elected as a member of the Executive Board of the International Chamber of Commerce, Paris for three-year term.

A simply and deeply religious person, Raunaq Singh had scribed his success to the Grace of God, hard work and honesty. He was fortunate in having a very understanding, affectionate wife and was proud father of five intelligent & enterprising sons and an affectionate daughter.
