Dinner in honour of Sr. Hardeep Singh Puri
World Punjabi Organisation (WPO), hosted a gala evening on the occasion of festival of lights ‘Deepawali with Hardeep Puri, the newly appointed Minister of State for Housing and Urban Development as the Chief Guest and Shri Manoj Tiwari, Delhi BJP President as Special Guest of Honour.
Continuing its mission to serve the society by giving scholarships to economically weak students, organizing marriages of daughters of 84 riot victims and running drug de-addiction and rehabilitation centers in Punjab, Vikramjit S. Sahney, Padma Shri, International President – WPO further announced that WPO does not exchange any gifts on diwali since last 10 years. He further announced that WPO will be organizing mass marriages of the daughters of the poor families and will also distribute 100 laptops / ipads to outstanding economically weak Punjabi students. Shri Sahney further announced a programme for preparing young needy Punjabi students for various competitive exams such as NDA, Bank Probation Officers, IITs, MBA and Civil Services.
The mesmerizing evening had beautiful live music of old bollywood songs and sumptuous dinner with galaxy of personalities; Gen. J.J. Singh, Justice R.S. Sodhi, Justice G.S. Sistani, Tarlochan Singh, Peter Hasan, Sanjay Verma, Gurjit Singh, Randheer Jaiswal, Rupinder Suri, B.S. Anand, Rajiv Luthra, Raj Khanna, H.S. Nag, S.S. Sayal, P.S. Sawhney, Ranjit Buxi and others.
