WPO is a non-political, International body of prominent Punjabis (industrialists, sportsmen, journalists, artists etc.) to bring about “Punjabi Renaissance”. Formally launched by Shri I.K. Gujral, the then Prime Minister of India, it is actively engaged in promoting Punjabi Brotherhood, folk & culture to foster social, economic and cultural bondage among Punjabis all over the World. WPO has achieved various milestones by undertaking multifarious activities including social, cultural, educational, spiritual etc., through its chapters established in over 20 countries. WPO also has, to its credit, launch of ‘World Punjabi Parliamentarian Forum (WPPF)’ a powerful platform of parliamentarians of Punjabi origin from all over the world to foster issues and opportunities ranging from education, youth, human rights, trade and consular services within India and in the members’ respective countries.
