Beating the heat, WPO is active and undertook various activites in the recent past:
Grand Baisakhi Celebrations at Ashok Hotel, New Delhi, where over 5000 people enjoyed the Punjabi folk dance and music by Kamaljeet Neeru, Preeti Uttam and Mikka, followed by sumptuous Punjabi food. Renowned Dr. S K Sama, of Ganga Ram Hospital, Sr. Uttam Singh famous bollywood Music Director and Shri. Kuldip Nayar, M.P. and Journalist were conferred upon the Punjabi Rattan Awards on this occasion.

Organized a function in Guru Nanak Dev University, Amritsar to launch programme for Free Education of Poor Widows’ Children in State of Punjab by Smt. Pushpawati Loomba Trust, U.K., supported by WPO.Coordinated the visit of Lord Williams, Leader of House of Lords – UK, to New Delhi and visit to Golden Temple, Amritsar. |
Punjabi Mahasammelan at Meerut where over 30,000 people attended the function. Special guests of honour were Shri I K Gujral – Former Prime Minister of India, Raj Babbar – Brand Ambassador of WPO. The Grand show was organised by Mr. Ramesh Dhingra, President and Shri. D S Sethi, General Secretary. |
WPO also welcomed Sr. Gurdip Singh, a luminary Punjabi Industrialist from Singapore during his transit visit to India. WPO is finally shaping in Singapore. |
